Seeing that sweet Miss Madi Grace will be our last baby I want to remember everything about every moment. I'm amazed at her long dark lashes. They're so long sometimes it seems as though they curl right back onto themselves. Perfection.

Well not technically back(until March...already booking sessions only 3 slots left, book yours at the bottom of the page!) but I did want to let everyone know I'm still amongst the living! It's been a crazy few months and I'm going to try to sum it all up in one big beautiful blog post for you. :)

This happened in May...

We were excited and surprisingly ready for our third child. It was very planned no question we were ready to have one more. Due to my history of miscarriage we held our breath through those first few months. Until we saw a tiny flicking heart beat and saw sweet peas' tiny profile.

Having previously had a preemie I was monitored constantly with appointments every 3 weeks to monitor for any worrisome changes(I won't bore you with the countless ultrasounds)At around 12 weeks I was told that I needed to rest a bit more my cervix was ok but on the short side. So for four hours every day I hung out on the couch on my left side. At 16 weeks I started a shot called 17p to help keep me pregnant. It made me sick as a DOG for the first few weeks. Thankfully by 20 weeks or so my body had adjusted to the added hormone. At 29 weeks I had my first big scare had some very light spotting and decided to head to the hospital to be checked out. My cervix was dilating and thinning more than they had previously seen so I was given steriod shots and sent home on strict bedrest for the remainder of my pregnancy. I made it a week at home. My water broke one afternoon when I stood up to walk to the bathroom. We headed to the hospital where I was put on antibiotics and monitored.

On the Tuesday before Thanksgiving I started having labor pains around 8pm by 3 am I was convinced that I was having a baby and called my husband to stay near home just in case. They hooked me up to some fluids and by 5 am the contractions were gone. Wednesday several lovely friends came by to visit with the first one coming around 10:00 in the morning and the last one leaving at 9:00 at night. Around 11pm the contractions started up again about every 30 mins. They were mild. I slept until around 5:00 am Thanksgiving morning when a harder contraction woke me up. It was around 10:00 that my doctor decided they needed to watch me in labor and delivery so they could keep a closer eye on me. When your water breaks early they don't do anything to stop labor nor to start it, your body is on its own to do it's own thing...kind of nice that they let nature work itself out. When so often the OB field is full of interventions. At 10:30 I was in labor and delivery and not entirely convinced I was having a baby that day. At 11:00 I called my husband and told him he should come just in case. He had the girls and had to get them to his parents. He made it to the hospital around 11:45. By then I was convinced I was having sweet pea. I was 31 weeks 6 days. We had talked to the Neonatologist earlier in the week we knew the risks that our little pea faced. We were worried but surprisingly calm. Things went fairly quickly after that around 12:40 his grandmother (bless her) stopped by to bring me lunch, shrimp and apple strudel. It was amusing even to me in the heat of a contraction.

At 1:12pm on Thanksgiving Day Madigan Grace made her appearance with the sweetest little cry. The Neonatologist was in the room and quickly swept her off to evaluate her and get her to the NICU. My nurse asked her if Jack(dh) could come over and get some pictures and she said no, our hearts broke, but then we saw her bringing Madi Grace over to us in a sweet little bundle. She was breathing room air on her own...she was just perfect. I don't think I've ever cried so hard. It was such a relief to have her here after the long months of bedrest and copious doctors appointments, the worry of that chapter washed away. (My mom will tell you they were saying grace at that exact moment...she really wants us to call her 'Gracie' :)) I got to hold her for a few minutes before they took her back to the NICU.

About an hour later I got to go visit her in the nicu and was happily greeted by Dr Miller who told me she required no oxygen and he was doing wonderfully. I got to hold her the next morning, she was taking her feeds by mouth that evening. She did amazingly well her doctors were shocked at her progress. She came home just 14 days later weighing 4lbs 7oz She never had any alarms or issues.

We are blessed with a strong beautiful girl who looks a lot like her daddy with a head full of dark hair. My husband was able to be home with us for the first 6 weeks...she still had to eat every two hours until this past week. She generally makes it around 2.5 hours on her own during the day and about 3 at night. She has survived one cold brought home by my 5 yr old.. ahh the joys of pre school..and is trying to avoid a second one. It almost makes me want to keep us all in a bubble until spring! I have yet to be able t6o do a proper session with her...she is 8 weeks old on Thursday. Had I the forethought I totally would have commissioned another photographer to capture this time..it's hard to feed a baby every 2 hours (for 30minutes at a minimum) and find time in between to do a session! I have gotten a few pictures though.

I always find it amazing when I get along so well with people that are the opposite of me.

I guess the old adage "opposites attract" is true in my life. Chrissi and I would not be two people that logic dictates would be friends. We are basically the opposite in about every way you can think of... she's tall, I'm short, I have two boys, she has two girls, I have curly hair, her hair is straight. She's artistic, I'm.. well... more of a logical person who strives to be artistic. I think that's why we get along so well. When she's quiet, I talk. And every once in a while, when she pipes up, I try to listen because I know it must be important, as she's a more quiet individual. While we were working on packing and shipping yesterday it was more than evident of our differences. Chrissi has a quiet confidence to her that I really admire. I tend to be a bit more frantic, a little unsure of myself when it's something that I don't have 100 percent control over.

I think it's a funny thing that we are friends. I'm so glad I have her in my life. And even more so, I'm happy I work with her. And that's what it is.. I never feel I work for her, but with her, helping her dreams of photographic ideas come true. It's a good place to be, and I'm glad.

Just an update

No pictures for now but I promise I'll get a few up I have sessions to put up peeks for, a beautiful niece to introduce, and a TON of orders to process. There's been a lot happening around here and I'll be sharing soon enough but for now just wanted to let you all know that I may be a bit MIA this week as I catch up!

My gorgeous niece Mya was born on Wednesday and spent some time in the NICU but I'm happy to say she came home today. Incidentally today would have also been my brothers 35th birthday, he passed away Feb of 2006, it was nice to have something to celebrate today! :) On another note my mother fell on Friday and broke her collar bone :( So if you miss me this week you know why lol As always if you need anything you can always shoot me an email and I'll be happy to respond in the evening when I get some down time.

I had such a nice mommy day with my little bean today. It really should be law that on/around your kiddos birthday you spend an entire day one on one with them. It was so nice to have conversations with her, to play with her, to be silly with her with no interruptions and no distractions.Definitely a tradition I'm looking forward to keeping around!

Beanie wanted to be pampered today so that's what we did.

Fist we stopped by a salon and she had her nails done. I didn't make an appointment, and they were super sweet! They did it for free because it was her birthday. I'd spill the name of the salon but I don't want them inundated with birthday surprises...if you're interested feel free to give me a shout and ask I'm happy to share. Then we stopped by the candy shop, and of course picked out the largest pinkest lolly pop she could find. We walked to the toy shop and she picked out a new jewelry box :) We ate lunch headed over to the park for a tea party. Then off to the flower shop and then finally ice cream.

My assistant and I both have 2 kiddos...pretty similar in age...I have 2 girls ages 4 & 3!! (how in the world did that happen already!)..she has two boys, ages 4 & 2. The awesome thing about having an assistant with kiddos your kiddos age is that you can work...and your kids can play together...It's PERFECT! The other day we went location scouting...to a PARK, the kids had fun and we found some cool nooks in the park that worked out well for this senior session.

Speaking of seniors...seriously can someone tell me how to keep my 4 yr old from looking 12!

Yesterday I had the pleasure of going back to one of maternity clients homes to photograph their newborn son. He's just the sweetest little thing ever, loved all his dark hair. When I got there I didn't have much luck getting him settled and only caught a few images before he wanted to nurse. At that point I was not worried most babies do that at the beginning. But it seemed my streak of sleepy babes has come to an end and little man wanted to nurse between almost every position there after. For what ended up being almost my longest newborn session to date! Seems he may have had other plans and we were interrupting! I hope this isn't the beginning of a trend!

And while it may have taken a bit longer than usual I think it was worth every minute! We captured a lot of really great images! Mom and dad thanks for sticking it out! Here's a quick peek.

is officially here. It was in the 80's over the weekend! We played in the yard and went to the park. I took my always willing sister in law out to a field in the middle of no where to get some pictures...I'm so glad she's willing to do anything with me :) I'm having mixed emotions on her nearing the end of her pregnancy...on one hand I'll have a brand new baby to document, on the other I'm losing my maternity guinea pig lol Thanks again Becky...I have so may great ones to share but these are all I've had the chance to edit so far.

Meet beautiful Miss Harper. She is *gasp* 19 days old!! Which I would normally sweat over, and this time was no different. Mom and Dad were in the process of relocating so they were unable to do the session sooner. I was worried that we would spend a lot of time getting her to sleep and not much time taking pictures. I'm not crazy there really are reasons for me trying to get new babies in before the 10 day mark, less likely to have skin problems, sleep more peacefully, they're still very close to birth weight, the still like to be squished up, they can be moved and repositioned with out being startled each time...the list goes on and on.

Well Harper was everything I look for in a 4-10 day old baby! I love it when they surprise you :D She was such a perfect little angel. She slept for most of the session and barely batted an eye as we moved from position to position. Mom, dad thanks for allowing me to come capture such a special time in your life!

I finally had the pleasure to meet these two sweet boys after months of anticipation. Mom had her maternity images done while she was in the hospital on bedrest baking these sweeties so they could be born big and strong. They were born 4 months ago and came home after a few weeks in the NICU, I'd say mom did a fantastic job growing her little men! There were such sweet smiley boys today, they were well worth the wait...and the drive out to meet them! :)

<3 Happy Easter from our family to yours! <3

We've had a busy week in our house...not getting home until after 8:00 most nights...but we've been fortunate enough to be spending that time with people we love :) Last night we got home at 8:10, we still hadn't dyed our eggs!!! (bad bad mommmy) So when we got home last night we dyed eggs and stayed up past our bedtime...but I didn't boil them before we left, thinking we'd be home in time, but we weren't so... well we didn't! We just used unboiled eggs worked fine(shaking head)...with only one causality I might add! After we finished up with the stickers and shrinky dink sleeves, we put out the carrots for the Easter bunny and headed off to bed.

The girls woke up nice and early to see if the he had come. First they checked the step...yep no carrots left...then off to find the baskets. First they found a basket for their cousin who should be here soon..evidently her mom and dad forgot to put carrots out for the bunny :) Then, Bean's basket was too easy to find, and finally Chickpea found hers after many a hint from dad. They got books, play-doh, gold fish, a few jelly beans, and a little chocolate bunny. They were most excited to get play-doh inside of the eggs lol. They're easily pleased, they made this to say Happy Easter ~ Chickpea made the bunny...Beanie made the eggs :)

Have I mentioned lately how much I LOVE my job...I really do! I feel so blessed to have the chance to capture kiddos at every stage and it's even more special when you get to watch them grow up! I found the perfect assistant. I'm SO excited to bring Echo on board. I think she has a lot to offer! She has some design experience, she's very dedicated, and so willing to learn everything! Hopefully she can help get and keep me organized, help me keep up with phone calls and emails, so I can keep up with the business of growing ECP...which is not currently my strong suit! She'll be 'starting' on Wednesday. The plan is to bring along and some sessions so if you're lucky you may get to actually meet her.

My poor little beanie has a shiner not just a little one either! She looks like she's been at the loosing end of a boxing match.

She was running around with her sister last night..being nutty as they always are. And somehow managed to whack the bottom corner of her eye on one of our kitchen chairs. It's didn't look too bad just a teeny blue bump right under her eye no bigger than a pea. We iced it for about 20 mins, with a baggie of frozen blue berries, because somehow we were out of ice. Did baths brushed teeth read books got in bed. Still a pea sized blue bump under her eye. Thought nothing more of it really I mean kids do stuff like that all the time, well at least mine do :)

Fast forward to this morning. Bean comes wondering in says 'dood mornin momma' I turn around to scoop her up to give her her good morning hug and....It was bad..I mean like bad enough to make me catch my breath... gone was the teeny pea sized bump and in it's place was a swollen and purple eye!

My poor bean! She seriously looks like she was in a boxing match..I really do think I'm going to invest in a bubble for her!

I've long known that winter is not my best time of the year. I have depression, the cold short days of winter make it worse..then the anniversary of my brothers death rolls around and you can just count me out until spring! I do not post ANYTHING, anywhere unless I feel like I absolutely HAVE to.

When I'm not posting I feel like I lose a connection with my clients, friends and family. This is completely unintentional. I have been loosing myself in being with my girls and not really focusing on photography or really anything outside of my family. Spring is on the way so hopefully I'll be back on my game..so to speak. Maybe I'll post a grateful daily 'in review' post so you guys see what we've been up to :)

2009 Wish Calendar | Maryland Charity Photographer

I wanted to post a quick update on the results of the 2009 Wish Calendar and the donation recently made to Hope Alive!

We ended up donating $2010 to Hope Alive this past week. This is the first donation made to them from the project. There are still calendars available and a few left at various retailers in and around Frederick so you still have an opportunity to pick one up and donate to Hope Alive.

It was a great community effort! People and businesses were very generous, not just participating in the calendar production, but in helping to sell them and donating their time to make it a success, just for their love of children! I was amazed by the generosity of people who purchased calendars for 3 or 4 times the asking price because they wanted to help out with the cause, especially in these hard economic times.

I was so excited to be able to present a check to Hope Alive, I know this funds are going to a wonderful organization that will use it to better woman and children in our own community. I'm excited over the possibilities for the next years' project since this one has been such a success.

I hope you all have gotten your own copy of the 2009 calendar - if not, please let me know! Thank you for all of your efforts to help the project along!!

Today I had the pleasure to work with my beautiful sister in law. She is one of the absolute sweetest people you will ever meet and I'm honored to be able to call her my sister. She is expecting her first baby, a little girl, for now we'll call her princess 'P'... I haven't met her yet but I'm sure I'll love her to pieces. My hubby had a day of homework planned so the chickies tagged along to help me out with Aunt 'B's pictures today. So I had a great morning spending time with four of my favorite girls! :D

I'm always so nervous doing images for people I know, and love. I don't want to make any mistakes, and it's hard for me to switch off 'just Chrissi', and switch on the 'photographer' I have become. I'm getting better but I still have a hard time with it. I feel so honored to be able to be apart of such an exciting time in the lives of all my clients, but with family it just means that much more!

Things have been crazy around here the last few weeks. I wanted to apologize to those I have not been able to follow up with. I am trying I should be all caught up on phone calls and emails this coming week if you don't hear from me please send me a quick note. I promise I'm not ignoring you! :)I really need to find an assistant so I can follow up with those who have questions, want to schedule a session etc...I just haven't had time!

Chickpea was in preschool, but long story shot she isn't now. So I've been focusing most of my normal 'work' time keeping her busy until Pre K starts, in September. Monday I finally went in to have my wisdom teeth removed...OUCH, not fun, I am still looking a bit chipmunk-ish.

and as if being a work at home mommy to two beautiful chickies, five cats, one floppy eared bunny, and one sweet golden retriever is not enough...

Yes you read right, that's a total of 8 animals. In the spring I'm thinking about setting up a petting zoo. Admission is $2 :P

Remembering Rob

Today marks the 3yr anniversary of Robs death. I'm sure as the day goes on it's going to get harder before it gets easier. I plan to stay busy. Although I haven't made any actual plans, just in case I want to hide under the covers all day and just snuggle my beautiful babies. I swear sometimes that's better than therapy!

Rob was my big brother in all aspects of the word. My protector, my confidant, my security. At 6 foot something he was a big presence but would never hurt a fly, always a peace maker, gentle, and funny. The Rob I knew loved "Alabama" Travis Tritt and numerous other country artists, which always drove me crazy..I swore off country pretty young...although since he's been gone I have found myself listening and understanding how he could like it :D He watched cheesy shows, loved cartoons, CHIPS, the A-Team. again all things that as I kid I harassed him about :P He loved his friends and was always the one to jump up and help anyone. He was in marching band, despite his hearing loss he excelled at it. He was a giant, goofy, caring, teddy bear. He fell in love with Crystal he loved her and her gorgeous girls, he chased her for a long time before she said yes :) Then came his beautiful babies. He was so proud to be a daddy. He did everything he could for them. I wish he could be here to watch them grow.

I'm so lucky he was a part of my life. When he first passed away it all seemed so unbearable. I could not get past the pain to remember all the wonderful things about his life. I'm so grateful I'm able to see all the wonderful memories now. It doesn't make his loss any easier...just different.

Miss you, love you, but most of all cherish the time I had with you!

Mr. Robert Douglas Shuck, 31, of Frederick died on Sunday, February 12, 2006 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Crystal E. Hitchcock Shuck, his wife of 10 years.

Born on June 6, 1974, in Cumberland, he was the son of Bruce Dewrood and Melissa Anne Maples Shuck of Sabillasville. He was plumber for David Stang & Son in Damascus and also had worked for CSC in Clarksburg and Tech Data in Frederick. Mr. Shuck was a 1993 graduate of Catoctin High School where he excelled in music as a member of the marching and jazz bands. He was an avid Ford Mustang enthusiast, but most of all loved spending time with his family.

Surviving are 4 children, Christy Akowskey, Karrie Akowskey, Shelby Shuck and Trenton Shuck all of Frederick; a sister, Chrissi Lillard and husband Jack of Myersville; maternal grandmother, Rita J. Maples of Glen Burnie; paternal grandmother Norma Flanagan and husband Fred of Rawlings, Md.; sister-in-law, Ramona Frounfelter and husband Ronald of Thurmont; and his mother-in-law, Sarah Gray of Walkersville; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Shuck was preceded in death by brother, Michael James Shuck.

I hope 2009 is wonderful for each and every one of you! 2008 has been such a fantastic year for me and Eyes of a Child. 2009 looks to be just as fun. Two of my images will be published in 2009 one in the Bump which should be out in February and one in well known magazine...we're still working out the details so more news to come on that one. I have a OB office in town that is interested in hanging my images. I look forward to it all again in 2009. I am so blessed to be able to do what I love and it's thanks to each one of you.

My grateful project is still going strong while not daily really it's getting much closer to daily as time goes on lol. I need some serious work on the posting daily!! The project has made me more aware of the moments of I should be grateful for, it has made me more able to handle the frustrating moments better. I can see the bigger picture that it's just a moment of frustration in a lifetime of wonderful gifts! I think that everyone should do this project. Yesterday we went on our annual hunting trip..well tree hunting :) We have gotten together with Jacks family, my wonderful in laws, every year since Chickpea was born. We usually have a nice brunch and hit the road to find the perfect trees.

After we all made it back from our long hunt S had hot chocolate, coffee, and gingerbread men waiting for us.

It was a great day! I'm so thankful we have our family so close! I hope we can continue the traditions that we are growing to love so much!

I've been mia for a bit and I thought I'd share some of the reasons why...I've been editing like crazy!

The good news...I'm just about caught up, the calendars should be here any day...ANYday now, and I'm almost done processing the last of my holiday sessions. Yes, I know it seems early but most labs run a 4 week wait during the holiday rush so I like to get them done early and out of the way. There are still 1.5 weeks to order cards! Cards are custom designed based on the image I can use images from a recent session or any image that you own the rights for..any professional images will need a print release. My sweet girl turns 4 today! I can not believe it! It amazes me that time can go by so quickly without us ever seeing it! I can remember very clearly everything about her being born bringing her home but from the first day on it's all such a blur. I've written in a journal that I try to write in at least once a month so I can remeber and so she has it when she gets older.

Every glance, hug, kiss, 'I love you' makes my heart skip a beat. I can never express to her, how my heart over flows with love for her, how I can be proud, excited, scared, and overjoyed, for her all at the same time, how she is one of the best things to ever happen to me. I'm grateful for, her.

I recently received an email from the owner of a premier prenatal imaging center called Stork Vision. Chelsea saw my site, loved my work and contacted me to ask if I could display my work at the center. I went out and saw the place and instantly decided yes. The space is beautiful, I'm so excited! We're working together now to pick the images for display and hopefully in the next week or so I can get out there and get them up!

One of my recent maternity clients had her little one a little early. After a few days of trying to stop her contractions her little man came to join us. He was a little over 4 pounds when he was born. My youngest came early so I remember how hard that is and it all goes by like a blur. I have a few pictures of my visits with bean but I wish I had had more. I went out to capture this time for them as hard as it is right now someday when he's all grown up I think it will be a memory they will treasure.

Just sharing chickpeas birthday invitation she picked out the colors and animal print we're going to have a jungle theme birthday. This beautiful mommy is waiting patiently for the arrival of her precious baby boys, on modified bedrest in the hospital. :(

Having gone through both modified bedrest and strict hospital bedrest with my chickies I just had to do her session I remember how hard it was! Her doctors let her up for the day so she could get some shots of her gorgeous belly so she can have some memories of this special time. I hope that toady I broke up her mundane stay at the hospital and pray that those little guys stay put and bake as long as they need to! It was a tight squeeze in her room today but I'm happy that mom had some great light pouring in from at least one of her windows.

It was such a pleasure working with you today J please let me know if I can do anything to help out!

I had the pleasure of working with miss M and her family for her newborn session when she was weeks old. She was such an easy baby she slept most of the session. Today I arrived at their home to do her 6 month images and was very pleased to see that miss M was still the happy little girl I remembered, just bigger and much more smiley :)

I absolutely love going back to a family! It is wonderful to have the chance to build that relationship with the family. Getting a chance to see these little ones grow is just amazing.

The Littlest Heroes Project is a non-profit based organization founded in January 2008, made up of professional photographers nationwide that provide free photo sessions to our nations Littlest Heroes. This is our way of giving back and taking a stand for these children who sometimes feel forgotten because of their illnesses. We are here to let them know that they are heroes to many, and to share their inspirational stories and photos with the world.

The Littlest Heroes Project provides you with a complimentary photo shoot for your hero and family. I get asked a lot why I chose the name Eyes of a Child Photography not Christine Lillard Photography or some other variation of the traditional photographers name. My answer is usually two fold. I find eyes intriguing always have, I would constantly doodle eyes as a child/teen, but also I strive for my images to show the innocence, fun and beauty that as adults we sometimes miss.

FAQs about the calendar vote.

Since I continue to get people asking I thought I'd make a post about this.

When will the Vote Run through?

The vote will end the 15th of October.

I was unable to vote a second time even after waiting 24 hours, whats going on?

It seems that the people who are unable to vote will need to clear their cookies everyday in order to vote everyday. This is not the case for everyone but for some it is.

How can I make my vote from the second and subsequent day votes count?
If you or a contact was unable to vote on the 2nd 3rd or 4th day of voting please forward me their email address. They should not have had a problem with that first vote so if their email matches any of the email address that voted on the first second or third day I will give them credit for each day after their initial vote up until today. After today votes must come in from each individual.

How can I vote everyday?

For those who are having a problem with voting. If you clear your cookies you will be able to vote without issue.

I apologize for the confusion I tested the poll out on my own and my husbands computer and we had no issues voting once per day per email address. The good news there is plenty of time left to gather your friends and family for voting everyday!

Today I had the pleasure of meeting two photographer friends and I could not have had a better time! Thank you ladies for coming out! what a nice day! I hope we can get together more often!

Copyright Law

Action is needed from as many people as possible to prevent our current copyright law/protection from becoming worthless. Please help prevent the single most damaging bill for artists of every venue - but especially visual artists like graphic designers and photographers! A bill, dubbed "Orphan Works," legislation was hotlined through the Senate while all eyes were on the financial issues. The "Orphan Works" bill, as passed in the Senate Sept 26th, would rob thousands of people of their copyright protection, and allow any outside person/corporation to TAKE OUR WORK and use it, with NO COMPENSATION to the original artist, as long as they claim they "couldn't find" the copyright-holder. That is a simple matter of removing our name from a file, then the work can be dubbed "orphaned" and used WITHOUT OUR PERMISSION for ANYTHING they want to use it for! This bill would also force us to "register" EVERY SINGLE PIECE of our work with private registries, which could cost thousands of dollars for photographers and graphic artists, as we produce literally thousands of works each year! (Think about how many pictures a professional photographer takes in just ONE WEEK or how many graphics can be produced in ONE DAY!)

PLEASE pass this along to everyone you can - this is extremely critical, as this bill will deprive artists, photographers, etc. of the income they depend on!

The Senate has just passed their version of the Orphan Works Bill (on Sept. 26th). Now we must try to stop the House Judiciary Committee from folding their bill and adopting the Senate version. Here is a link to a special letter for this purpose.

My chicks are 18 months apart almost to the day...(10 days off) They both have blond hair the same bluish green eyes. I think that's where the similarities end though.

Beanie is just too funny, my little comedian, shy, sweet, crazy, rebel, caring, princess and bug lover. my guess is she'll be the 'free spirit'

Chickpea is outgoing, she will be in a journey cover band when she gets older lol, caring, excitable, literal, no princesses allowed, book worm. I think she'll be an animal doctor just like she tells me every day.

They're both just beautiful and perfect! Although I am their mommy so I guess I'm a little biased :P

I'm grateful that the two peas can be so close and still have so many things that make them so different.

I am a volunteer for a non profit called Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep. Last night I did my first volunteer session with them. Before I left I argued with myself for an hour that I didn't need to go that someone would be there to do it since photographer Chris Vigliotti had already volunteered, but it was his first time going and for some reason I felt compelled to go. This session was heart wrenching and I was able to get through it because I went along with Chris.

I'm so glad that this organization is out there for families, as hard as it is to do, I can't imagine the grief this family is feeling and I hope the images we took of their beautiful daughter help them through this process of healing.
